1 of 2 Ringed Plover
Greylags nearly ready for flight.
6 Common Sandpiper present
1 of 2 LBB gulls
A pleasant morning with a light NE>2 at 10 degrees and good visibility with 80% cloud.
No improvement at this site today with water back up to the overflow and very quiet on the bird scene with just the usual Ringed Plovers, Common Sandpipers and 2 Oystercatchers along with a single Snipe.
The skies were empty other than 2 Raven, 2 LBB gulls and the last few remaining Curlews and Lapwings. This has got to be my worst spring on record for this site due to low temperatures, fog and rain, keeping the reservoir water level up to the maximum and no exposed shore. All hopes now are on a dry period bringing some chance of waders in the next 3 month.
Summer solstice tomorrow so the sacrifice stones at Fly Flatts will be a busy place with all the sun worshippers. To me it just mean that we,re off back down t'uther ro'ard now.
Talking of sun, there does'nt seem to be much of it tomorrow but dry and cloudy on a light WSW.
