1st June, Fly Flatts.

                                Single Wheatear briefly

                                    Greylags growing well

Common Sand and Ringed Plover to fall back on.

A decent but cold morning with full cloud at 9 degrees on a cold N>4 and good visibility.
The gull count was down early morn with only a handful of LBBs but gulls trickled in from the SW during the watch estimating around 100 by knocking off time. Only 5 Herring gull among them and the majority of the LBBs were sub adults.
The Greylag geese had come down from the top fields to the water with 4 pair and 28 goslings among them all growing well. One of the goslings got tangled in brambles trying to get to the water so I had to free it and carry it to the waters edge where it quickly caught up to the rest of the group.
Nothing else special to start the new month with just a single Wheatear and the usual waders, along with plenty Swifts in the air.
Looking like full sun tomorrow on a light westerly.
