Spring like weather at Fly Flatts.

More Canadas appearing at the water
                                        Lapwings returning

                                    3 Greylags present

Good count of 5 Reed Buntings in the compound

                                    Herring gulls >NE

A real spring like morning at Fly Flatts despite the minus 1 degree icy drive up there.
A light NE>2 with light cloud cover and some hazy sunshine.
A much livelier place now with new birds appearing daily starting with Lapwings and Golden Plover this morning on the Flat Moor. Herring gulls were moving over >NE whilst Canada geese numbers were up to 23, along with 3 Greylag and a few Mallard on the water.
Small passerines in the compound comprised of  a pair of Blackbirds, 1 pair of Pied Wagtail and a good count of 2 male and 3 female Reed Bunting.
Kestrel, Raven and Crows were over the quarry area.
Peter from Bank Top had NK and me out in our gardens again this afternoon at 1549 hrs with another skein of Pinks over Odsal heading towards Queensbury but once again they must have passed to the north or south of us with nothing seen. Thanks again Peter, keep em coming.
