Fly Flatts

A less windy morning at Fly Flatts with 80% cloud cover, a touch of sunshine and drizzle on a moderate W>4 at 3 degrees.
What a difference this morning compared to Leeshaw yesterday which is only 2 miles NW of Fly Flatts but yesterday I was looking at near on 800 birds and came away with 200 photos. Today I had 9 birds plus a few geese and came away with no photos, although to be fair, 2 Ringed Plover at this time of year is an excellent sighting.
Work up there is still ongoing with very little done during the week due to the helicopter being grounded with fog and strong winds so its still out of bounds for as long as it takes.
Surprisingly, the 2 Ringed Plover are still present but moved across to the north of the water along with 2 Oystercatchers. The water held 1 Herring gull plus a couple of Mallard and a few Canadas whilst a Greylag flew overhead.
The compound held 2 male Reed Buntings, a single Wren and a male Blackbird. A very quiet but peaceful mornings birding.
