More wind, more drizzle, more gulls. Ogden

OGDEN                    Adult and 1 CY Herrings

SOIL HILL                    ad Herring gull leg ring

2 present on underground reservoir field

An horrendous morning with a strong W>6 and heavy horizontal drizzle so just a dog walk and a check of the gulls on the playing fields with 28 Common and 5 Black Headed all crouched down, head to the wind.
Mid afternoon and the wind down to W>4 but still drizzle I did a check on Ogden. On the way there 2 adult Herring gulls were on the underground reservoir field at Soil Hill, one of which had a yellow ring on its left leg, number 5B9B which I believe to be a British bird and have sent an e mail to who I think is the ringer.
Visibility was poor at Ogden with the driving drizzle but very few gulls present with around 30 Black Headed but a surprise to get 2 Herring gulls, one adult and one 1CY.
The west bank held the usual Tits etc but lack of Treecreepers, Goldcrest and Siskin today.
Cloudy with a light wind tomorrow could spell fog but then what looks like a decent few days ahead.
