Midday at Fly Flatts,(permit only)

Juv 1cy gull, still under investigation. Long tibea, sloping head,
Long bill. Couldnt get side on or clear plumage pattern.
                                                          Probable Caspian

Lime on the west bank like snow.

Few LBBs on the north shore.
                                               1 of  5 Stonechat.

                                             Juv Peregrine harassing the gulls.

A strange time to visit Fly Flatts but midday was the only time I had an hour spare as still can,t make mornings and I,m told Lyndas eye op could take weeks or even months before she gets her full vision back.
Conditions were reasonable with 80% cloud and some sun at 16 degrees on a light SE>2 but still a mass of heat shimmer around the shore.
Another day without waders on the shore though 9 flew over me from behind as I walked the west bank. By the time I,d got the bins up they were disappearing >NE into the cloud so no definite I.D. I,m suspecting and hoping they were just Golden Plover but I,ll never know for sure. One of those sightings you wish you,d never seen .
A very suspicious looking juv gull on the south shore which I took as Herring but the photo shows some outstanding features  moving me towards Caspian or Yellow Legged but more research required although I couldnt get a side on shot nor a clear plumage due to the heat shimmer.
Just 8 LBB gull on the north shore plus a few Black Headed which were soon moved on by a juv Peregrine making a half hearted attack.
A Buzzard circled over Tatty Pie Hill whilst 5 Stonechat and 3 Wheatear were present.
