Another hour at Fly Flatts but again, early afternoon which is not a good time for this venue. A light SSE>3 with very dark clouds at 18 degrees made scopeing difficult in silhouette conditions.
With Ruffs turning up at various sites I thought I may have a chance at Fly Flatts but every Ruff I have had previous years are usually early morning birds and gone by midday.
The 3 juv Ringed Plover were still present and joined with an adult though the 2 Dunlin had moved on. A single Snipe was the only other wader found.
A group of 5 Wheatear were on the shore along with 6 LBB gulls and a few Black Headed whilst a move of wildfowl was apparent with 14 Mallard on the water as well as 3 Teal and a pair of Tufted duck plus a text this morning from DK reporting 4 Shoveler on Redcar Tarn.
No boats out today at Fly Flatts with the water now too low for safe sailing.
