juv Wheatear
Ringed Plover taking the sun
Several juv Lapwings
Good move of Herring and LBB gulls
acres of shore
all this is usually water
even got a harbour entrance
The Lagoon has got to attract Green Sandpiper
3 distant Chinook helicopters in the haze
0730 hrs at Fly Flatts and already 21 degrees but early cloud and a light SW>2 kept it bearable until the sun broke through and then it was head for shade behind the clubhouse.
As expected, very quiet wader wise with just 1 Ringed Plover and 2 Common Sandpiper found, even scoping the north end mud. All the Wheatears had moved through leaving just the 2 original juveniles on the shore as well as tons of Meadow Pipits.
Sky movement comprised of a single Teal >SE, around 60 Swifts >S and a good count of Herring and LBB gulls >SW with just the 2 juv BH gulls on the north shore.
One more hot day to get through then back to normality though today was nothing like the life threatening conditions that the media promised us who always tend to put the fear of god into people when there is snow, wind or heat on its way.
