Despite the forecast for a calm morning a moderate NW>3 was blowing at Fly Flatts with full cloud at 12 degrees and light drizzle.
Nothing to get the adrenaline going this morning with the same shoreline species and a single Wheatear plus around 50 Swifts moving >S.
A Kestrel was on the shore briefly but mobbed by a juv Wheatear. A slight improvement in gulls with 12 LBBs on the north shore along with 1 BH gull whilst a pair of Tufted were on the water.
A gull check at Ogden mid afternoon was disappointing with only a low count and plenty disturbance continually flushing the birds onto the water. A few juv Black Headeds were present along with 6 Cormorant including 2 juvs.
The long staying Common Sandpiper is still present and, even though a second bird joined it briefly in the spring, it has remained in none breeding plumage throughout so no breeding this year, possibly a 2 CY bird.
