The heat is on, lazy wader day.

                                           male Ringed Plover

                                                 juv Redshank
                                             Common Sandpiper
                                                     Dunlin ad breeding.

                                                      juv Common Sandpiper
Must have been expecting some serious sailing today, HM Coastguard.

Full sun and clear blue skies at Fly Flatts early morn and already at 14 degrees on a NW>4 turning W>3.
A bit stagnated this morning as expected in the anti reservoir weather conditions with very little activity. The usual waders were either steadily feeding or just preening on the waters edge.
Just the male Ringed Plover present along with 2 juv Dunlin and 2 adults as well as 1 juv and 3 adult Common Sandpipers and 2 juv Redshank. No chance of scoping the north shore mud with too much heat haze although there is less activity in that area now with the mud dried out and rock hard.
Empty skies today other than 2 LBB gulls and a single Swift.
