A cool wind at Fly Flatts early morn with a WSW>4 at 12 degrees but feeling cooler in the wind. Some low passing clouds soon cleared to leave broken cloud and sunshine.
A few Curlews on the move this morning as well as LBB gulls but possibly only 1 Curlew left on site now. The big Swift movement earlier in the week was down to 8 birds today all >S.
The long staying Ringed Plover pair had reappeared and being very protective to the juv bird proving, as suspected, it is from their first brood, which is some consolation for losing their second brood.
Otherwise, just the usual waders etc plus a single Buzzard over the moor but no Merlin this year after several years of breeding in the area.
Fly Flatts is like birding the Lune estuary at the moment with the water still receding and a dry forecast for next week, just a shame I have,nt got the same birds as there.
