Hot,Hot,Hot, Fly Flatts, (permit only)

                                                 Plenty juv Goldfinch about
                                       Long staying Ringed Plover pair

                                                 juv Dunlin

Juv Ringed Plover now moved on
                                                Still 4 Common Sandpipers left
                                                   Juv Wheatear

Not very pleasant at Fly Flatts this morning with the temp already up to 19 degrees by 0715 hrs and a very calm SW>1 with clear skies and sunshine. As I was thinking of an early finish some hazy cloud blanked the sun and the wind increased slightly to SW>2 making it feel a bit fresher.
Again , the weather spoilt the waders with the same as usual and not very active just preening and feeding on the shoreline. At one point the male Ringed Plover started alarm calling making the other waders freeze or crouch down whilst a juv Peregrine flew fast and low over the water.
A few LBB gulls headed >SE whilst a single BH gull and the female Tufted duck were on the water. The 2 breeding Greylag families are still present with the 11 goslings flying whilst there is still around 300 Canadas and 2 Barnacle geese at the north end.
Yesterdays police activity on the west moor was a body found in the conduit, it all happens at Fly Flatts.
