July lull hits Fly Flatts

Just the same 2 juv Dunlin present

                                           1 of 5 Wheatear
                                                           juv Wheatear
The large pale juv, suspect alpina
                                                        very long billed

                                                 male Wheatear going into moult.

The July lull has hit Fly Flatts at the moment even though conditions were good with a cool NW>4 with full cloud but good visibility at 11 degrees.
The 2 juv Dunlin were present along with a single adult but none to be found scoping the north shore. Just 2 Redshank and 5 Common Sandpiper whilst the long staying Ringed Plover and juv were not to be found. Wheatear are trickling through with 4 juvs and an adult male and Meadow Pipit numbers are building with post breeding birds lining the shore.
The water is at an all time low making the wader search much harder with so much shore, islands and pools to check but hopefully it will invite returning waders in later in the month.
