Fly Flatts, ( permit only)

1 pair of Teal came in from the SE

Steady flow of LBB gulls >SW

As expected , a misty start to the morning brought on by the light SE>2 which by the mid afternoon visit had lifted to a moderate S>4 with broken cloud and sunshine at 10 degrees.
Usual waders present with Redshank, Ringed Plover and Oystercatcher whilst a steady flow of LBB gulls was taking place very high overhead all >SW.
A pair of Teal came in from the >SE landing on the water at the north end where a single male Tufted duck was still present.
Lots of Meadow Pipits around today as well as 4 Reed Buntings whilst a new wave of Wheatear had appeared with a count of at least 9 in the top fields but no sign of yesterdays single bird which is now believed to be of the Greenland race, leucorhoa. A very bright breasted , long legged bird which I held back on as I don,t usually get Greenlands through until late spring, though adult Wheatears are coming through earlier this year. Thanks to MC for bringing this to light. The bird in question is on yesterdays blog and the header picture.
