Fly Flatts, Cullingworth, Staples Brow, 10 Yards Lane.

FLY FLATTS                Unusual good count of Black Headeds for Fly Flatts

                                             Herring gulls over >NE

                                        Sparrowhawk in the mist
39 BH gulls on the water
Staples Brow                  Masses of gulls but in a field out of sight.

                                                   Few fly over pics

                                               Sprawk.

A half decent morning at Fly Flatts weather wise with a light E>2 at 8 degrees and a mix of hazy sunshine and low mist clouds moving through.
Quite lively compared to yesterdays visit with a good count of 39 Black Headed gulls on the water which is not usual for this location. Even more gulls when a flock of 8 Herrings went over >NE and 3 LBB gull >SW.
Still several Mallard on the water along with 5 Canada geese and 4 Greylag high and >NW.  A single Meadow Pipit was over the top fields narrowly missing a half hearted attack by a Sparrowhawk. By knocking off time,1000 hrs, the fog was rolling in thick and fast.
A mid afternoon visit to Cullingworth found 2 empty fields with not a gull present but a move to Staples Top found about 1000 gulls very flighty but out of sight when down in an  inaccessible
field. Plenty gulls arriving and departing to the area so plenty to watch before a check on 10 Yards Lane on the way home.
13 Herring gulls were in the lower field opposite the quarry whilst around 40 Black Headeds were in the scarecrow field but nothing special among them.
