Ringed Plover
Usual Barnacle Goose
1 of 3 juv Wheatear
Hot and sticky even at 0745 hrs this morning with a cooling N>3 breeze the only saving grace with the temp at 18 degrees and rising. This high pressure is set to stay with us until August slowing down any early migration although it is unlikely to affect waders which are already starting to move.
Oxon had its first returning Osprey today, see Oxon link for amazing photos ,whilst SJ at Manchester had a good count of Swifts >S.
A steady flow of Swifts >S over Fly Flatts this morning continued throughout the watch but no continuation of yesterdays Black Headed gull move.
Just 3 juv Wheatear today with 5 LBB gulls on the water plus the usual Common Sandpiper and Ringed Plovers.
No afternoon session due to the weather playing silly beggers and turning up the heat.
