Gulls and Wheatears. Fly Flatts, (permit only)

                                          1 of 6 juv Wheatear

                                       Common Sandpiper still watching chicks
                                            female Tufted duck
                                        The ever present Ringed Plovers

                                                  juv Wheatear

Good move of LBB gulls, this looks good for Intermedius.

Very dark, near black, small mirror on P9 and white leading and
                             trailing edges standing out.

A very low cloud base early morn which soon lifted leaving very dark skies and drizzle on a light N>3.
Lesser Black Backed gulls were the bird of the morning with a steady passage >N throughout with one gull standing out showing signs of LBB intermedius .
A second wave of juv Wheatear had arrived all very mobile around the SE corner whilst waders were down to the usual Common Sandpiper and Ringed Plover.
Things to do so no afternoon visit this afternoon but luckily MB was up there in the afternoon to find 7 Common Scoters that had arrived since mid morning. These birds will leave overnight so it was lucky Matthew was up there or they would have gone through un noticed.
This coincides with a good overnight move of this species after a high count of Scoters past Flamborough Head yesterday.
