Gulls and Wheatears, Fly Flatts (no public access)

3 distant shots of juv Wheatear arrival.

A hot sticky calm start to the morning with clear skies and sunshine at 15% with heavy mist in the valley. Things soon improved with full dark cloud and rain by 0945 hrs. The afternoon had broken cloud and some sunshine but the light S>2 had turned SE>3 .
Early morn found 5 new arrivals with juv Wheatears around the compound but very mobile and soon moving across the Flat Moor. By afternoon none were present and no sign today of the juv Dunlin looking like it has moved on, hence the heavy feeding day yesterday.
A single Grey Wagtail was unusual in the boatyard whilst 2 Common Sandpipers stood guard over the 2 chicks although only 1 was seen today.
Late afternoon saw Black Headed gulls moving all >NE and several looking like Terns skimming over the water but these were juv Black Headeds which had a much faster flappier wing movement than the adults.
Swifts were coming through in waves all >S , again in migration mode, heads down and direct.
A strange July for gulls with  Caspians showing before the return of Commons with 2 July Caspians to press , MC at Oxon and KM at Redcar Tarn.
