Reflections
Dense fog and rain early morn at Fly Flatts which refused to clear hardly giving enough visibility to see the shoreline so an early finish before returning late afternoon when the fog had cleared leaving hazy sunshine.
A Short Eared Owl flew high and >SW over the west moor looking like a mover rather than a local bird whilst a few Swifts headed >SE in migration mode.
Just the usual waders with the juv Dunlin feeding on mainly newts in the lagoon area whilst a pair of Common Sandpipers were on chick guard duty.
Luckily the water level has stopped rising for now but quite a bit more rain to come in the next couple of days. As long as the level stays below the overflow, the drain off valve has to be open to keep the stream flowing.
