NOTE !!
No sightings of Roe Deer, Fox, Hare or Badger will be mentioned on this blog throughout the year and links will be removed from other blogs giving the whereabouts of these mammals due to the rising influx of poaching, long dogging and lamping by sick individuals.

Fly Flatts, not the best of days.

A very wet female Ringed Plover

                                               and the male

Torrential rain and dense fog cancelled this mornings watch . By late afternoon the rain was still falling but the fog had cleared to mist over the moor. A full light grey cloud cover on a ESE>2 and light rain at 16 degrees looked like perfect conditions for some maritime movement but this only happened to the west of the ridge missing my position completely.
The afternoon visit was about as exciting as watching England trying to play football last night with just a few LBB gulls in the air, mostly >SE, as well as the usual Common Sandpipers and Ringed Plovers.
The juv Dunlin has definitely moved on with no sighting again today whilst the Common Sandpiper chicks are backed into a corner with the water rising rapidly and very little shore now exposed. As long as the water level doesnt reach the overflow it will soon start to drop when the rain stops but if it gets running down the overflow and feeding the stream YW will close the drain off valve which would be disastrous at this time of year leaving no shore.
