Fly Flatts ( permit only).

                                       Usual pair of Ringed Plovers.

                                            Stoodley Pike in the snow
Nolstar, field full of Golden Plover.

Poor reservoir conditions today with clear blue skies, sunshine and a light NNW>3 increasing NW>4 by mid afternoon. Another low temperature reading of minus 2 degrees rising to 4 degrees mid afternoon.
An exceptionally quiet day up at Fly Flatts with just the pair of Ringed Plover in the boat compound and a Raven overhead.
Curlews, Lapwing and Snipe were lively along with Canada and Greylag geese and that was it apart from a good count of Mipits.
A stop off at the Nolstar field on the way home mid morning produced a count of 112 Golden Plover in the field looking very impressive. Once they catch sight of you they all crouch down in the grass so only their heads are showing.
A knock back with the Canon 7d mk2 camera today when the camera shop rang to say they had found another problem with the camera which would take the repair price up from £300 to £700 so told them to scrap it. Another camera bites the dust so I,ll have to struggle on with the Canon 7d mk1 and the small 300mm lens.
