A slight taste of spring. Fly Flatts,(permit only).

A second wave of Wheatear moving through.

Back up to 2 pair of Ringed Plover now

Taking a liking to the boatyard
                                                      1 of 3 Raven

                                                  Out on the shoreline.

                                            Always Kestrels present.

Another bright crisp morning at Fly Flatts with a calm NW>2 turning W>3 by afternoon. The temperature was down at zero with clear blue skies and sunshine.
Two Swallows were on overhead wires as I drove through Mixenden which was a good start to the day although they have not yet reached the heights of Fly Flatts.
As I unlocked the boatyard gates there were 6 Wheatear, new in, flitting around the compound being very mobile , then by late afternoon they were gone.
Ringed Plovers were back up to 2 pairs with one pair in the boatyard and another pair by the west bank. One of these pairs have been present since 28th February and are now very approachable when in the boatyard area.
Lesser Black Backed gulls are hanging around on egg and chick watch with 4 on the water whilst 2 Great Black Backed flew over high and >NW which is the usual direction for GBBs.
Strange that this time last year I was inundated with Ring Ouzels in and around the boatyard from 16th March until April when I had to stop going due to lockdown but the Bentley workmen kept me up to date saying they were there until 20th April, yet this year I have had none so far and soon they,ll have moved through.
This evening whilst I was playing ball in the garden with the dogs Lynda informed me that 2 Swallows went over heading >N over Foxhill, unseen by me.
No Goldies in the Nolstar field the 4 times I passed today.
