juv Pied Wagtail moving through with Meadow Pipits
Several Mipits ground hopping through.
Just the ad male Ringed Plover left.
Shaking off the water, slow shutter speed due to bad light
hence a blurred head.
Yet another misty morning with heavy drizzle and rain throughout on a W>4 which increased by late afternoon to W>5 and continuous heavy horizontal drizzle.
Despite this, both the morning and afternoon were active though this mornings low cloud base saw nothing in the sky.
Several Meadow Pipits were ground hopping through the ponds all slowly heading south, perhaps an early move of juveniles and/or non breeders. A juv Pied Wagtail came through with them along with what I suspected as a juv Yellow Wagtail having a very greenish back ,in the few seconds I saw it, but by the time I,d lifted the camera I failed to relocate it so I will have to let that one go.
Two Reed Buntings and 2 juv Wheatear also came through all eventually disappearing over the Flat Moor. An exciting half hour as when you get a group coming through like that you never know what can be in with them. Only the adult male Ringed Plover could be found in the area today looking like the juv has gone.
The weather had worsened by late afternoon but the cloud base had lifted giving me some sky movement whilst the ponds now remained bird less.
Big gulls were moving >SW following the western ridge and flying in a channel of bright sky between the cloud base and the horizon whilst Lapwings were moving >W. A single Golden Plover was in the top field whilst 3 Kestrel were up in the air together over the Nab.
