Another visible migration watch begins.Fly Flatts, (no public access)

Lapwings stopped off on the island before moving off >W
                                                Curlews also heading >W
                                 New arrivals, 6 Ringed Plover
Way over on the mud NW corner
                                                      juv Ringed Plover
                                       LBB, very few gulls now
Another moving day for Swifts >S

A morning without mist and strong winds today with a light W>3 with full cloud cover and light rain. By late afternoon the rain had become heavy throughout at 15 degrees.
With waders and Swifts on the move I have once again been sucked into the visible migration period and have started putting my reports on Trektellen where there is a link direct from my blog for any interested vis miggers. I was surprised at the number of areas already up and running.
Several signs of movement today , one being 6 Ringed Plovers arriving on the NW shore keeping at great distance and by late afternoon they were gone.
Curlews and Lapwings have started moving >W whilst another day of Swifts piling through >S in migration mode.
Very few gulls now that all the chicks and eggs are away with just a handful of LBBs and a shortage of Herrings. A daily check for Black Redstart in the usual area as I pass has not yet produced either Black Red or Wheatear but possibly next week for the latter when the weather is suppose to brighten.
Still the water rises with one of the islands almost gone and the other not far behind.
At least now the shoreline is much easier to scope without all the bays and coves.
