A quieter day at Fly Flatts, (no public access)

Just a few late bred Canadas left now
Single Lapwing on the disappearing island

                                   Still a singing Blackbird present
The two Barnacles have been here full time recently.

A foggy start early morn but this soon cleared leaving light drizzle with full cloud cover on a light E>3. Late afternoon was dry with the wind turned ESE>3
A relatively quiet day even though conditions seemed good with little movement other than 2 Curlew high and west and, a much lower number than yesterday, of Swifts >SE along with Herrings gulls >NE.
Two of yesterdays Ringed Plovers had gone leaving 1 male, 1 female and 2 juvs but very elusive and distant in the stones on the south shore. Common Sandpipers were the only other waders on the shoreline with several moved on. The ones remaining still have unfledged young.
Its just a waiting game now, watching and hoping for things to kick off.
