Snipe on the move and a knock back with the Dailie Fields.

                                   Bombers Moon, last night.
                                               Plenty Pied Wagtails around

                                         Elusive Snipe
5 new in at Low Lane

                                          1 of 2 , Raggalds Flood
            Tons of Peacock butterflies about.
                                          Linnets enjoying the sun.

                                       Up in full song.

A bright , sunny day with a light SSW>3 and 0 % cloud. Too still and clear for raptor movement today.
An overnight move of Snipe was apparent with new birds in at 2 sites and plenty reports of a new arrival of Willow Warblers around the area.
First stop off was Raggalds Flood where an Oystercatcher was present but flipped over the wall into the field as I came into view. No Redshanks present but 2 Snipe were very well camouflaged near to the water.
A good scan round nearby on Low Lane produced another 5 Snipe but equally as well hidden in the reeds.
The Dailie Fields were quiet in the conditions with nothing in the sky which was very milky and hazy to the east. The fields held the usual Linnets etc and still not a warbler to be found though the leaves are just starting to appear now.
Another birding setback today with a call from the Dailie Fields landowner/farmer informing me that he is putting cattle and calves on the fields making it a no go area which is something I was expecting as cows have been on this land before so its move on and find a new venue till this lock down eases. I dread to think what I,m missing at Fly Flatts.
