Around Queensbury .....again.

                         Bird of the day, Greenfinch

                                       Several LBB gulls >NE

                                                 Distant Buzzard >N
                                         Mistle Thrush, high and >W

Another of those part grey part sunny days with a cool SW>4.
Very little to report from Roper Lane/ Old Guy Rd other than the usual Linnets, Skylarks and Meadow Pipits today with 2 Redshank on Raggalds Flood.
The Dailie Fields had Linnets, Chaffinch, Gt and Blue Tit with Greenfinch being the star attraction in the Hawthorns whilst a steady flow of LBB gulls moved >NE overhead.  A single Buzzard headed north up the Aire Valley and a Mistle Thrush moved high and >W.
An e mail tonight from ex Queensbury birder Gillian Chambers who got the first reported Calderdale Swallow over her house at Barkisland today, well spotted Gillian.
I,ve covered Queensbury on foot from the house for the last 2 weeks now and have come to the conclusion that Queensbury is not the best of places to be grounded with a lock down . The constant cold wind and low temperatures puts us about a month behind up here both bird and garden wise but it looks like I,m going to be stuck with it for some time yet.
They,ll be a lot of Spring/ Summer birds missed this year but hopefully we,ll make up for it in the autumn.

Dailie Fields.
