Around Queensbury

Good move of gulls P.M.    LBB and Herring
                                                        LBB
                                        2 Redshank Raggalds Flood

                                           Very little water left.

Another grey, cool day with a W> 4 and bursts of sunshine.
A check on Raggalds Flood found 2 Redshank along with a Pied Wagtail and several corvids. Pit Lane, Low Lane and Carter Lane were poor with very little bird life showing other than the usual species.
Even the Dailie fields failed to reach the mark today with Linnet, Long Tailed Tit etc with around 50 Woodpigeons and 28 Magpie.
A move of big gulls was apparent with Herrings and LBBs over >NE and very high. This move continued until early evening over the house but stopped as birds began to head >E to the Eccup roost.
Seems strange sky watching from the Dailies looking East when I,m used to looking West from Fly Flatts though I can see a much further distance East with the Harrogate Menwith Hill early warning station golf balls on the horizon. On a clear day you can see the Humber bridge to the East and the 3 peaks to the NE. Having said that , other than gulls the skies were pretty empty today.
