Several Skylark, Roper Lane
Up in the Crows nest.
Few Herrings over.
A little livelier today down Oats Royd though nothing out of the ordinary. Swarms of Midges in the shelter from the wind bringing out the Chiffchaffs and Willow Warblers but no sign of Blackcap or Garden Warbler as yet. Yesterdays Gt Spotted Woodpecker was still tree drumming but keeping out of sight and probably a fair distance away, its amazing how far the sound of the drumming carries.
Just a single Kestrel in the sky as well as a few Herring gulls >NE with around 80 corvids in a newly ploughed field.
Around 5 Skylarks were along Roper Lane as well as several Meadow Pipits whilst 4 Swallows headed >N over the valley.
A phone call from Bentleys site manager at Fly Flatts informing me that they are almost ready to start letting the reservoir fill now , if we ever get any rain, and he says there are all sorts of birds present that he has,nt seen before.. grrrrrr !
