Queensbury walkabout.

A single Redshank on the Raggalds Flood

                                       Wren in song

Summer male Linnet less the red forehead as yet.

                      Sparrowhawk over high and fast
                                           2nd Sparrowhawk on the deck

Another dry and cloudy day with a few quick bursts of sunshine and slightly milder on a NW>3.
A new walk today taking in, Raggalds Flood, Pit Lane, Carter Lane, Harp Lane and the Dailie fields.
Raggalds Flood held a single Redshank along with 5 Magpies and a Pied Wagtail whilst a Song Thrush was singing on Pit Lane along with 2 Wrens, 3 Linnets, 6 Stock Doves and 3 Lapwing. Just 3 Dunnocks down Harp Lane with a single Herring gull over.
A check beyond the bottom of the Dailies by the old tunnel in an area once a hot spot for Bullfinch just produced 2 Greenfinch whilst higher up the Dailies just turned up the usual species apart from a Green Woodpecker calling down in the station area out of sight and 2 Sparrowhawks, one fly over and one snooping around the Gorse and Broom.
No Buzzards moving >N today with just locals sighted.
A Jay was an unusual sight flying over the garden >E as I was out painting the shed this afternoon.
Just got word that Halifax Sailing Club, Fly Flatts, is now closed to all members until the restrictions are lifted which doesnt make any difference as I couldnt drive up there anyway.
One good thing about the restrictions is that its saving me a fortune in shopping and petrol.
