Fly Flatts p.m., a reet poor do.

Fly Flatts late afternoon with what seemed like good conditions with a nice light grey 100 % cloud cover although visibility was limited in the distance with haze on a moderate E>4 which is probably what killed the job up there today.
As with Ogden, only drake Mallards were present on the water in small groups like expectant fathers whilst the females were busy egg sitting. The usual Canadas were present along with Curlews and Lapwings but wader wise only 1 single Common Sandpiper was found despite a full scope of all the bankings. Gulls were back to the 2 regular LBBs with no repeat of yesterdays mass of Herring gulls.
Part way up the track , 5 Wheatear were darting around along with several Meadow Pipits but no Goldies in the top fields today.
As I got home the heavens opened and the rain siled down in stair rods which is good for the moorland fires and saved me watering the garden which was handy as Bobby bit through the hosepipe yesterday and I have,nt had chance to repair it yet.
A full day of rain promised for tomorrow and still an east then south east moderate wind but it will at least keep the nuggets away that were flying the noisy drones around this afternoon and save me taking my ground to air missile launcher up there.
