Wader bonanza Fly Flatts.

Fall of Ringed Plover. 1 of 6

                                                      Ringed plover 3 of 6
Once again dark clouds and near gale force winds and all
waders way back at the east shore ponds
                                                   RP + 2 of 9 Dunlin

A flying visit to Fly Flatts at 1445 hrs with just 3/4 hour to dash on the west bank , scope, scan and take some pics before collecting Pippa from the groomers.
The weather was once again ideal wader weather but not very good for photos with a near gale SW> 7 at 30 mph with a mix of dark and light grey 100% cloud cover and drizzle throughout.
The central east shore was unbelievable with waders scurrying around feeding but well back from the waters edge sticking to the rear ponds where many would have been hidden from me. A final count and scan through 200 photos found 3 Common Sandpipers, 6 Ringed Plover, 9 Dunlin and 3 Redshank. As expected the Grey Plover had left the area after a full day there yesterday.
Unfortunately the photos are poor given the distance and conditions but they just give an idea of the situation up there.
With stronger SW winds turning Westerly tomorrow the show should go on although the first Saturday of the Grouse season could mean a shoot on in the area.
