Foggy Fly Flatts.

                                       Foggy shorelines

Annoyingly it was clear right up to the Withins this morning then thick fog at Fly Flatts on a moderate SW>4.  Visibility was just enough to check the south and west shoreline and a third of the way across the water with just 1 Wheatear present along with several Mipits.
A gloomy walk on to the NW corner where the fog started to clear slightly so I could just make out the east shoreline but not enough to inspect it . By 0800 hrs there was enough visibility to see 10 Teal in the water by the north shoreline but this was short lived
and another bank of fog rolled in.
The usual 2 kestrels were low above the west bank whilst 2 Red Grouse were near the feeding station, I hope they,ve checked their calendars and know what date it is.
By 0900 hrs the fog was dense so it was up stumps and head for home running out of the fog at the Withins.
