A lull at Fly Flatts.

A trek the length and breath of Fly Flatts in perfect conditions of 80 % cloud cover on a W>3 only produced an empty camera. It seems a lull is taking place before any new arrivals appear.
Again not a sign of any kind of wader apart from Lapwings scattered around the shoreline along with several Black Headed gulls and 13 Lesser Black Backed.
Crows are not helping the situation with 6 regulars on the mud which is bound to spook any small waders.
Wildfowl are holding their own with 5 Teal, 2 adult and 8 young Tufted plus 4 female Mallard and 3 young ones . Wheatears are still slow moving with 1 by the feeding station and 1 by the top gate , neither of which was interested in having its picture taken.
The problem with waders now is that all the local reservoirs are low and showing shoreline so the birds are spoilt for choice where to land so its just hit and miss that your patch gets lucky and attracts some in.
So far at Fly Flatts I can,t grumble with the following list of waders so far this year :-

Curlew
Lapwing
Snipe
Whimbrel x6
Green Sandpiper x2
Common Sandpiper
Greenshank x1
Dunlin
Redshank
Turnstone x1
Golden Plover
Oystercatcher
Ringed Plover x2
Sanderling x3
And hopefully more to add shortly.
