The farmer has done a great job this year
From being 3 parts full yesterday its down to
2 puddles today.

A quick after tea trip to check the Raggalds Flood after reports of it being 3 parts full yesterday after the recent heavy rain only to find it already drained away and drying up. The farmer and his JCB really got the drain clear last autumn leaving it hopeless for us this year.
Just 1 Pied Wagtail, 2 Stock doves, 8 Woodpigeons and a few cordvids present.
Down to Shelf Moor trailer park to once again find it void of Wheatear. I can,t blame the farmer for this as the field remains the same as previous years but has failed to produce Snipe, Wheatear and decent numbers of Lapwings for some unknown reason.
Luckily tonights blog has been rescued by Mark Murray who got a call from a farmer friend to say he had a Little Owl trapped in his barn, which was unsuitable for breeding, and after the Owl had checked it out, couldn,t find the way out again.
Mark went down and managed to open a window to let the squatter out after taking the above photo.
Nice one Mark and thanks for the pic.
