On arrival at 0645 hrs the wind was strong blowing near gale force W>7 increasing to gale force W>8 with rain showers by 0730 hrs making it hazardous walking along the banking.
A good count of 7 Common Sandpipers were present along with 3 Oystercatchers but nothing unusual on the water.
Whilst I was putting seed down I heard a distant 7 whistle Whimbrel call but nothing to be seen until a few minutes later I heard it again and picked out the bird very high and distant towards the Nab heading >NE.
A constant flow of gulls were moving >SW with LBBs, Herrings and 2 Commons.
I though I had a Little Egret low and distant over the moor for one heart stopping moment only to find it was the white Greylag.
Unfortunately no shoreline with water coming over the southern end footpath.
Several LBB gulls were congregated on the east banking.
On the way back 19 Golden Plover were present at Hunter Hill.
