Ogden, p.m.

2 Gt Crested grebe out in the middle.
 Probably the Mixenden birds

A lot of obstacles to face for these chicks.
                    Common Sandpiper number 1
            Common Sandpiper number 2
           Common Sandpiper number 3
           Common Sandpiper number 4
Few Willow Warbs but light too dull for decent pics.

The resident and ridiculously tame Tufted duck

A combined dog walk and birding check took me to Ogden at 1800 hrs hoping for Terns or a Swift or two, neither of which developed.
A calm, dull evening and too late in the day for many passerines although a few Willow Warblers were having a last insect hunt.
Two Gt Crested Grebe were dozing in the middle of the water surrounded by 11 Canadas.
Common Sandpiper was the bird of the trip with 4 seperate birds counted but all distant skulking around the edges.
My first Song Thrush this year briefly showed itself before diving for cover.
Plenty Mallard bumblies inviting Carrion Crows patrolling the edges of the water waiting for an easy meal.
No hirundines over the water despite swarms of flies.
One morning to work them a long weekend, magic.
