This juv could have been mistaken for a Shorelark at distance.
If only!
The flood back to its former glory with ponds as a bonus.

Treading carefully
With yesterdays report from JL saying the Raggalds Flood was looking good and a call from NK this morning saying the Flood was looking lively I thought I,d better organize a dinner time dash to see for myself.
Not only is the flood full to the top but there are 2 good ponds in the field and water in the field nearer to the Travis. It was bone dry at the weekend after heavy overnight rain so I can only put this down to the farmers drainage channel being either blocked or frozen so hopefully he won,t notice too soon.
Nothing much there today but very inviting for passing waterfowl. Just 6 Common and 4 Black Headed gulls present along with a few corvids and 1 ad with 1 juv Pied Wagtail,
Just caught the back end of a Cormorant heading >W over the garage at 1415 hrs whilst a few LBBs headed >N.
A flock of 5 small passerines headed >S over the garage at 1450 hrs which looked very much like Siskin with the jizz of them but unable to say without bins.
Should be something good around this weekend if the cold spell continues.
