Mipits on the move

A day of sunshine and showers and an icy cold W>5.
Meadow Pipits were moving well from first light this morning and have now got to that stage in the program where they have moved from heading >W to direct >S showing that their movement schedule is well underway. Another week to two week will show a peak in Mipit movement and then we,ll be watching for winter thrushes coming in.
Skies were otherwise quiet today in the strong wind and even gull numbers were low.
A fence painting project prevented any birding tonight and the shorter daylight hours are rapidly increasing.
