Green Lane/ Ringby
A retake of last Saturday but minus the Buzzard and Whimbrels with a watch on Green Lane early evening then a trip to Ringby Top.
Corporal Hill/ Green Lane was quiet with very few gulls in the fields and empty skies other than several Swallows moving through >S and the usual pre roost jackdaw flock. No sign of the Little Owls.
Ringby Top also suffered from quiet skies ( I hate this blue stuff, bring back the grey,) although 2 Kestrels kept the corvids active. On the ground a very mobile flock of c40 Goldfinch were feeding on thistle tops and several Linnets and Meadow Pipits were about. The highlight was around 19 Wheatear near the quarry but very fidgety like they were new in, some being in part moult.
