                                    2 of 4

                                    2 Oyk  2 Ringed Plover
                                    The spotted Greylag.

Another decent morning at Fly Flatts with a favourable light S>3 turning SE>4 with full cloud and good visibility at 8 degrees.
At last, a taste of half decent birding though mostly at height and distance and having to use vis mig tactics through the scope. Best off was a tight group of 32 Golden Plover very high, in and out of the cloud heading >NE.
A couple of Great Black Backed gulls came onto the far north shore before lifting off to mob a Heron then  also heading >NE. Still no Wheatear which are arriving late this year, apart from an early wave moving through Trough Lane, Oxenhope, reported by BV.
Plenty Meadow Pipits around as well as 2 Stonechat and a pair of Pied Wagtails whilst the usual waders were present.
The south wind is increasing now although wind does'nt affect us up here on top o t'ill as Queensbury folk allus walk at a 45 degree angle in t'wind although we tend to fall over a lot when its calm.
Wind at the moment is blowing at 30 m.p.h. gusting at 48 m.p.h. and the forecast now for tomorrow gives the wind as slightly less at 26 m.p.h. gusting at 40 m.p.h. so a bit of back peddling there by the forecasters who put Sunday as the worst day.
