Back to Fly Flatts

                                    1 of 3 LBB gulls
                                    Single Common Sandpiper

Plenty food in the wet ground

Hope you're not having tea whilst looking at these pics.

Another good weather morning at Fly Flatts with full cloud on a light WSW>2 at 6 degrees and some light drizzle. By 0930hrs mist was rolling in from the west and by 0945hrs it was lights out with dense fog, but luckily, packing up time anyway.
Once again, my first bird on arrival was a Wheatear, same place and probably same bird as yesterday but only a distant, one off, view. The Common Sandpiper was showing and feeding well with plenty food available, despite no shore, with the ground being so saturated and soft there are plenty options for probing.
Oystercatchers were up to 8 today along with 3 Redshank, the one found dead yesterday was unfortunately one of a breeding pair. The Ringed Plover pair were very distant along the east bank whilst, once again, Curlews were everywhere.
The usual 3 LBB gulls were across in the NW corner harassing the breeding Lapwings but otherwise it was just down to the usual species.
Looking like the same scenario for tomorrow with a half decent morning deteriorating midday to heavy rain turning to mist and fog. Every time the reservoir begins to drop at all it's immediately topped up again with more rain.
