On a run with decent weather at Fly Flatts with another good morning at 3 degrees with a SW>4 on full cloud but good visibility. More rain to refill the reservoir during the afternoon.
A good variety of species this morning with Curlew being the dominant bird with at least 15 regularly in the air along with the Lapwings.
Another Common Sandpiper has arrived overnight as well as a drake Teal and 4 Wheatear whilst Ringed Plover seem to be just down to the breeding pair now along with 3 Redshank and 6 Oystercatchers.
A Buzzard was high overhead as well as 2 Raven whilst a male Merlin, skimming low over the Flat Moor, gave concern to the nesting Lapwings but the Golden Plover flock have, once again, deserted the area.
A pair of Pied Wagtails were around the compound and 2 LBB gull were over on the north bank on egg watch.
On my way home a group of 5 Linnet were by the old Withins but very mobile so only chance of a quick shot through the car windscreen. These birds are first returners.
Just looking cloudy for tomorrow on a moderate westerly.
