A foggy start at Fly Flatts

                                    2 Dunlin present

                                    Usual 4 Common Sandpipers
                                    Swallows feeding over the compound

A foggy start at Fly Flatts with light drizzle but soon cleared leaving a low cloud base and full cloud on a light NW>3 at 10 degrees. The full day of rain that was forecast failed to materialize.
Once the fog had cleared conditions looked good but, other that the usual species, the morning was quiet. Still 2 Dunlin present along with 4 Ringed Plover plus chicks, 5 Redshank, 2 Oystercatchers and 4 Common Sandpiper.
A single Snipe was up drumming whilst several Swallows were feeding over the boathouse and a Reed Bunting was on the fencing.
Two drake Tufted flew in low and landed by the west bank whilst I was having a phone chat with DJS who was up on the top road giving it a coat of looking at.
A light easterly in the morning with the smell of fog.
