A day bart birding.

Another morning of thick fog to start off with clearing around 0930 hrs leaving it too late for a morning birding session. By the time we got in from tottering about in the afternoon it was just after 1400 hrs with only about 1 hour of reasonable daylight left so I settled for giving one of the dogs his Christmas bath and cut which did,nt please him at all but at least I didnt waste the afternoon during a quiet period with dull miserable weather.
Bird wise there were 41 Common gulls in Foxhill Park a.m. as well as 8 Black Headed along with a Pied Wagtail during an early morning dog walk peering through the fog. Visitors to my feeders were Great, Blue and Coal Tit plus Wren , Robin and Dunnock as well as the usual swarm of House Sparrows, all carefully checked for Tree Sparrow which I have done for about the last 50 years with no success as yet.
Hopefully the drop in temperature tomorrow will keep the fog away although the wind is still light from the >SE.
