Friday the 13th but no bad luck today, Fly Flatts, (no public access)

16 Wheatear present along the west bank
17 Reed Buntings >SW and 4 on the deck coinciding with
DFs several on Soil Hill this morning.
At last, a wader, juv Ringed Plover on the north shore.

good number of big gulls over.

Some Mipits stopping off to freshen up
More atrocious shots of Black Redstart
Just too far and too much heat distortion.
The bird was present am. and pm. as I passed.

Took several Butterflies from the roof

At last a day bart fog with good moving conditions early morning but still awaiting Osprey, Pinkies and early Whoopers which are predicted to show this coming week if the weather stays as per forecast. Today was part cloud and part sun on a NW>3.
Finally a wader has appeared, after quite a lull, with a juv Ringed Plover on the north shore whilst Reed Buntings were the highlight of the vis mig with a good count over and some down on the deck. A meet at the Black Redstart sight midday with DF was interesting to hear that he had plenty on Soil Hill so obviously a move on. Otherwise vis mig was hectic for the first hour.
At least 16 Wheatear were present along the west bank this morning with 8 present by the sheep carcass on the east bank p.m. late afternoon but possibly some of the same birds so left the count at 16.
On the way home late morning the Black Redstart was present around the farmhouse and then again as I passed late afternoon where it was busy catching butterflies on the house roof.
It was good to meet a birding couple from South Yorkshire looking for the bird which I directed them onto it much to their delight.
This bird at some angles, scoped, looks heavily in the moult which is possibly what is holding it here so long.

Could anyone visiting this site please respect the privacy of the farmers and view from the road only.
I have passed twice now to see birders cars parked blocking the farm entrance at the top of their private track.
