                                    juv  Herring and ad LBB
                                        juv  Herring
Water off down the plug ole.
Draining getting serious now. Work starts tomorrow.

Another very windy day with a SW >4 this morning increasing to SW>6 by late afternoon with
5 okts cloud cover and cloudy sunshine. Some very black clouds but remaining dry.
No Peregrines present today and a surprise visit from 2 Common Sandpipers on the east shore this morning but were gone by the afternoon watch.
As yesterday, Swallows came piling through mid morning as well as House Martins and Swifts whilst Alba Wagtails were moving west.
The afternoon watch was quieter but a large bruiser of a gull stood out on the south shore along with 2 juv Herrings and 1 adult LBB. Dashing on there I was hoping for Caspian with the white head but getting within range the bill was too short putting it to GBB though later confirmed by MC to be imm Yellow Legged Herring gull. When it comes to gulls there is always a lack of comments with MC once again saving the day.
