A day not meant to be but a 2nd day reward with YL Herring gull.

A real disaster day today with dense fog this morning , which gave me chance to get some tyres on the car although it broke my heart to pay someone to fit them after doing my own for 53 years.
Bright and hot sunshine pm whilst we were shopping but by the time I,d got to Fly Flatts late afternoon the sky was black as night just giving me chance for a quick walk about and scope the bankings before the heavens opened and the rain came down in stairs rods blanking out visibility and as the thunder and lightening appeared it was time to make a quick exit.
The only movers were Swifts, Swallows and Golden Plover but I suspect the Swallows to be a feeding party rather than movers with no definite direction.
Just 2 Wheatear were by the ponds and just 2 gulls present, these being an adult LBB on the south shore and yesterdays Yellow Legged Herring Gull which was on the east bank but at distance, though definitely showing pale yellow legs. Thanks for confirmation of this birds I.D. from yesterdays photos to MC.
