Twite feeding 2016

                                                  Fly Flatts Twite March 2012.

As from now I intend to return to putting down Nyjer seed at the Fly Flatts original Twite feeding station in an attempt to attract this now rare moorland bird back to the area. The last active time they were seen here was the spring of 2012 with just odd sightings since then. Previous to this ,flocks of 20 + could be guaranteed around the round tower area.
Each visit I will put good amounts of Nyjer down concentrating on this one site after last years failed attempt at 2 other locations.
It would be appreciated if anyone visiting the site would take the trouble to throw some seed down, just a handful would do to keep the interest going. I know I,ll be getting help from DJS, a regular visitor to Fly Flatts.
Hopefully by the end of summer we,ll be getting Twite on the Fly Flatts species list again.

Wilkinsons in Halifax and Brighouse sell small bags of Nyjer cheap and just right for throwing in your rucksack.
