This is how today started
Heavy snow and roads stopped for a time
Lunchtime, fog and slop
Foxhill Park, grim
Ogden last light
Barnacle enjoying reeds
Heavy snow until mid morning then fog with a grey afternoon before the mist came back before dark.
By tea time weather conditions were perfect for waterfowl with little wind and misty so it was a quick after work dash to Ogden to see if anything had dropped in for the night.
Visibility at the reservoir was poor but possible to see just across the water where any activity was at the north end.
A quick check at the feeders found 8 Long Tailed Tits then a shock when a male Sparrowhawk zoomed in and landed on the feeder post but clocked me and away it sped before I,d even time to lift the camera.
A dash along the sloppy path to the north end only to find 14 Canadas and the Barnacle goose as well as a few Mallard.
Oh well, it was worth a try, especially after this mornings report of a pair of Shoveler briefly on the water and 42 Whoopers leaving Cold Edge Dams towards Fly Flatts whilst I was at Ogden but unable to see them for the mist.
Interesting to see what turns up this weekend other than fog.
